ASKFLY COOKIE POLICY
Effective Date: June 21, 2026 · Version 2026-10-03
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies AskFly uses, why we use them, and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy — read that policy for the broader picture of how AskFly handles personal information.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site recognize your browser across pages and visits so features like staying signed in, remembering your preferences, and processing payments can work. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and SDKs — this policy uses “cookies” as shorthand for all of them.
Categories of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary
These are required for AskFly to work and cannot be turned off. Without them the site can’t sign you in, keep you signed in, or process a payment. Specific examples: Supabase authentication session cookies (they hold your signed-in state); Stripe cookies set by Stripe.js on checkout pages (fraud prevention on payments); a small amount of browser local storage that caches your subscription tier so the app paints the correct UI on first load.
Functionality
These remember non-essential preferences to make the app feel personal to you. Examples: cached avatar initials so your profile button paints instantly, cached city-autocomplete results so re-typing a city doesn’t re-hit our provider.
Analytics
AskFly does not currently run any third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If we add them, we will update this policy, list them here, and — where the law requires it — request your consent before setting them.
Third-Party Cookies
Stripe sets its own cookies during payment flows for fraud prevention and Stripe Radar risk scoring. Those cookies are governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). AskFly does not read or share the data those cookies collect.
Your Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies for specific sites or all sites. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and payment features. Blocking functionality cookies will still let you use AskFly, but small conveniences (fast avatar paint, city-autocomplete caching) may not work.
Consent
AskFly does not currently use non-essential cookies that require prior consent under laws such as the EU GDPR / ePrivacy Directive or Quebec’s Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information). If we ever introduce cookies that do require consent, we will present a consent banner and give you a clear way to opt in or out before setting them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top and, where required, notify you through the Platform.
